Pius Wanjala Wekesa, a 54-year-old newspaper vendor in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), has been missing for six weeks.
The Daily Nation vendor disappeared on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
A notice published on Tuesday, March 11, revealed that Pius was last seen by his colleagues while closing his newspaper and magazine stand outside Kimathi House in Nairobi around 5 p.m.
He was heading home to Kawangware in the Dagoreti North Sub-County, but reports indicate that he never arrived.
At the time of his disappearance, Wekesa was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, a black coat, grey trousers, and black shoes.
His family is urgently seeking any information regarding his whereabouts.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact his children, Norah Wekesa at 0743 938547 or Davis Wekesa at 0714 508584.
Information can also be reported to the nearest police station.

This case adds to the growing number of missing persons in the country, raising concerns about the effectiveness of law enforcement and the lack of accountability within the police force.
Public trust has been severely affected as some individuals who went missing have been found dead, while others have returned alive.
One such case is that of Yussuf Hussein Tolfiyo, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Dela Ward, who went missing in September 2024 and was found alive on Saturday, March 8.
A family member of the MCA revealed that he had been held in the same facility as the “Kitengela Three” Jamil Longton, Aslam Longton, and Bob Njagi who had disappeared earlier.
According to the family member, Tolfiyo was detained in a room near the one where the three men were held.
He was eventually released and dropped off at Pangani Shopping Center around 9:30 p.m. with sh 5,000.
In a report released on December 26, 2024, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) revealed troubling statistics, with 82 reported abductions since the June 2024 protests and at least 29 individuals still missing.
From September 2023 to August 2024, abductions in Kenya rose by 44%, with 52 cases reported, compared to 36 the previous year, according to the national security report.
