Can you rewatch a TikTok live from someone else?

TikTok Live has become one of the platform’s most popular features, allowing creators and fans to connect in real time. Whether it’s an influencer interacting with their audience, a musician performing, or a brand showcasing new products, TikTok Live brings a sense of immediacy and community. But many users often wonder — can you rewatch a TikTok Live from someone else after it ends?

TikTok Live lets users stream video in real time to their followers. During the broadcast, viewers can send comments, questions, and even virtual gifts to show appreciation. However, once a live ends, it doesn’t automatically stay visible to the public like regular TikTok videos — unless the creator decides to save or share it.

Can You Watch Someone Else’s TikTok Live After It Ends?

By default, TikTok does not allow viewers to rewatch another person’s live stream once it’s over. Once the live ends, it disappears from public view. This means that unless the creator chooses to save or upload it later, there’s no way for followers to replay the session directly from TikTok.

However, TikTok provides an option for creators to save their live replays. If the creator enables the “Save LIVE Replay” feature before or during their broadcast, TikTok will automatically store the stream for up to 90 days. During this time, only the creator can view, download, or delete it — unless they manually post it as a regular video on their profile.

How Creators Can Save and Share Live Replays

If a creator wants their audience to rewatch a live, they can take the following steps:

  1. Before going live, open TikTok and tap the “+” button to access the live stream settings.
  2. Under the “Settings” or “More options” menu, enable “Save LIVE Replay.”
  3. After ending the broadcast, TikTok automatically saves a copy to the “LIVE Replay” tab within the user’s settings.
  4. The creator can then choose to download the replay and upload it as a normal TikTok post or share snippets for highlights.

This option allows followers to catch up on missed content if the creator decides to make it available.

Workarounds for Viewers

If you missed a live and the creator didn’t post a replay, there are limited ways to watch it again. Sometimes, creators upload parts of their live sessions as clips or highlight reels. You can check their TikTok profile or other social media platforms like Instagram or YouTube, where many influencers share their live recordings.

Unfortunately, TikTok itself doesn’t have a built-in “Live archive” feature for public replays, and downloading someone else’s live stream without permission violates TikTok’s community guidelines and copyright policy.

How to Know If a Creator Saved Their Live Replay

You can check if a creator saved their live replay by:

  • Visiting their TikTok profile to see if they’ve posted a “LIVE Replay” video.
  • Checking their bio or stories, as some creators link to replays hosted on other platforms.
  • Watching for notifications or posts where the creator mentions uploading or re-sharing their live.
