Award-winning actress Nyce Wanjeri, popularly known for her role in Auntie Boss and her musician husband Letting have moved and inspired thousands of Kenyans after bravely opening up about a painful chapter in their lives.
Taking to social media on the morning of Monday, October 13, 2025, the couple revealed that just a few months ago, they were rendered homeless after failing to pay rent, an ordeal that saw them auctioned and stripped of nearly everything they owned.
In an emotional video shared on Nyce Wanjeri’s Facebook page, the lovebirds recounted how they lost their household items, including electronics, during the auction.
At the time, they had no money to settle their rent arrears or even relocate to another house.

According to the couple, that period marked one of the darkest moments in their lives as they “hit rock bottom,” but they chose to keep pushing and rebuilding, one day at a time.
Despite the tough times, Nyce and Letting continued producing content, staying positive, and maintaining their cheerful online presence, a move that deeply inspired their fans.
The couple disclosed that their financial struggles began around June 2025, forcing them to embrace a minimalistic lifestyle that has since helped them stay afloat.
Interestingly, they made it clear that they held no grudge against the people who auctioned them, acknowledging that their landlords had shown them grace for as long as possible, only that circumstances became unbearable.
“Last month we were auctioned. It has been the worst moment of our lives. From June till now, we’ve not been okay but we’ve been pushing. Everything about us, we lost — all electronics, from the washing machine, fridge, TV, everything. Thank God hawakubeba kagari ketu. This is not to say those people didn’t extend us grace; they tried their best, but tulishindwa kulipa rent. And it’s something that happens to many people. So we lost everything,” Nyce revealed.
Not A Call For Donations
The couple emphasised that their downfall was not due to mismanagement of finances, but rather the harsh economic times and the unpredictable turns of life.
Nyce and Letting were also quick to clarify that their post wasn’t a cry for help or a fundraising appeal, but rather a message of hope and resilience to anyone facing similar struggles.

“Please guys, don’t get this twisted. We’re not here asking for help. We’re okay. We’re out of the deepest hole. We’re not yet stable, but we’re good. At least we have a place to call home, small, not aesthetically correct, but we thank God. Even when we were broke, we kept making content, kept looking good, kept doing our crafts just for you guys. This video is for anyone going through problems, no matter your status in society. Don’t be ashamed of where life has placed you. People who succeed learn from their challenges and rise stronger,” they added.
Their openness and humility quickly struck a chord with fans, who flooded the comments section with messages of encouragement and admiration.
Many applauded the couple for choosing authenticity over sympathy, for not posting Paybill numbers or pleading for help, but instead facing their storm with grace and determination.
