President William Ruto visited Nairobi School in Nairobi County on Friday to inspect the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art Science Complex, two new dormitories, and eight classrooms.
The visit was part of the government’s initiative to enhance the learning environment across the country and improve the infrastructure of public schools to accommodate the growing number of students.
The President was welcomed by the school’s administration, local leaders, and education officials.

He was briefed on the progress of the construction works, which are part of a broader strategy aimed at modernizing and expanding educational facilities in Kenya.
The Science Complex, once completed, is expected to provide advanced learning resources for students pursuing science subjects, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in the ever-evolving technological landscape.
The two dormitories will help address the shortage of boarding facilities at the school, allowing for a more comfortable and conducive environment for students, particularly those from distant regions.

The addition of eight classrooms will alleviate overcrowding, ensuring that students have sufficient space for effective learning.
Speaking during the inspection, President Ruto emphasized the importance of investing in education to foster innovation and drive the country’s economic growth.
He stated that the government is committed to providing better facilities and resources for students across the nation, particularly in secondary schools, to help them achieve their full potential.

He also highlighted that the construction of the new facilities is part of a wider effort to support the education sector and bridge the gap in educational infrastructure.
The government, through initiatives such as the Kenya Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (KSEQIP), is investing heavily in education to provide quality learning environments in both urban and rural areas.
In addition to the construction projects, the President urged students to take advantage of the improved facilities and work hard towards their academic goals.
He noted that education remains one of the key pillars of his administration, with a focus on equipping the youth with the skills needed to contribute to national development.

The construction works at Nairobi School are expected to be completed in the coming months, and the school is set to become a model institution for other public schools in the region.
Local leaders and residents have expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts to improve educational infrastructure, which they believe will significantly benefit students and the broader community.
As the inspection concluded, President Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education and promoting initiatives that empower young Kenyans to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
