Pastor Victor Kanyari has finally addressed the escalating tension involving him, the late Betty Bayo’s family, and her partner Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash.
For days, drama has dominated the family of the late gospel singer, unfolding shortly after her burial.
The conflict began when Betty’s brother, Edward Kang’ethe Mbugua, took to social media claiming the family had not been informed about Betty’s illness until it was too late.
He further hinted that life in Betty’s household had not been as smooth as it appeared, alleging he found unpaid water and Wi-Fi bills at her home on the day she died.
The back-and-forth continued for nearly two weeks until Saturday, December 6, when Betty’s mother spoke out and opened a can of worms.

She released chilling details about Betty’s relationship with Tash, alleging that he had never officially married her daughter.
She also urged Pastor Kanyari to take custody of his two children with Betty, insisting they were not being raised in an ideal environment.
Additionally, she hinted that upon returning to Kenya from the United States, she would like Betty’s body exhumed for an autopsy to determine her exact cause of death.
Just hours after these revelations, Pastor Kanyari responded publicly to Tash.
In a video shared on his social media pages, Kanyari said he had initially chosen to remain silent but felt compelled to speak after hearing Betty’s mother express her pain.
He urged Tash to respect the wishes of the grieving mother, emphasising that she deserved compassion and understanding.
“I have been staying quiet and observing things for myself. I am very touched by what that woman is going through; it has touched me. I would like to ask Tash to listen to her wishes so that you may not get a curse from the one who passed away or from her as a mother,”he said.

Kanyari further urged Tash to step back and allow Betty’s mother and family to mourn peacefully.
“Just listen to her. People might underestimate her, but I will never forget that Betty was her only child who supported her. Even I, as Kanyari, will listen to her, even when it concerns my kids. Tash, let’s just respect her,she is almost 70+ years old,” he added.
He also suggested that Betty and Tash’s relationship had been strained long before her death, claiming they had separated months earlier.
Kanyari reiterated that he was not interested in Betty’s assets and was instead focused on ensuring the well-being of everyone involved.
As of the time of publishing this report, Tash had not yet responded.
