The Kenyan government has released a list of over 50 websites operating illegally within the country’s internet domain.
This move aims to strengthen digital security and protect citizens from online threats such as fraud, misinformation, and exploitation.

According to the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK), the websites were not licensed and were linked to illegal activities including online gambling, unregulated financial services, and data harvesting.
Authorities warned the public against using these platforms, citing risks like identity theft and financial loss.
The CAK stressed the importance of accessing only registered websites for safety.

Cybersecurity experts praised the move and called for increased public awareness and digital literacy efforts.
The crackdown comes amid a spike in cybercrime across Kenya.

The government also pledged to work with internet providers to block access to the banned sites.
