A woman from Holo in Kisumu County is heartbroken and in distress after her 9-month-old baby was allegedly abducted on Christmas Day.
Sharon Otieno, a second-hand clothes vendor, claims that the baby was taken by a woman she knows, whom she had seen previously as a customer.
According to Otieno, she left her infant son behind at home with his 4-year-old brother while she went about her daily business.
Upon returning, she was horrified to discover that her baby was missing.
Otieno believes that the suspect, a woman who had been shopping from her stall, took advantage of the opportunity to steal the child.
The baby was last seen safe with his older sibling before the shocking disappearance.
Sharon Otieno has reported the incident to local authorities, and an investigation is underway. However, as of now, both the suspect and the baby remain unaccounted for.
The community in Holo is deeply shaken by the crime, and neighbors have rallied in support of Otieno, hoping for the safe return of the baby.
The police have launched a manhunt for the woman believed to be behind the abduction, but no leads have yet resulted in her capture.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the baby or the suspect to come forward.
This incident has raised concerns about child safety and security, especially during the festive season when people are preoccupied with celebrations.
It also highlights the growing need for vigilance within local communities to protect children from potential harm.
The police are continuing their investigation and have promised to prioritize the case to ensure the baby’s safe return.
