A Kenyan Daniel Juma Omondi has been appointed by the Global Peace Foundation as its regional representative in Africa.
According to a circular from the organisation headquarters in W ashington DC through the senior VicePresident of the organisation Aya Goto the appointment is effective from May 1.
He said that Omondi will oversee GPF activities across the continent while maintaining his role as the country Director for Kenya.
The organisation is an international non profit making body dedicated to promoting peace,reconciliation and human development through grassroots initiatives,cross sector partnerships and ethical leadership programs.
It is active in over 20 countries and its vision is of “One family under God”.
Omondi on his part expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the organisation stating that he will work collaboratively with GPF team to advance its peace building mission in Africa.
He thanked the organisation Chairman Dr Hyun Jin Preston and President Jim Flynn for their trust in him.
“I will work with African governments,civil societies,multilateral organisations and religious leaders across the continent to elevate the organisations values based peace building on the continent,”said Omondi.
As part of his immediate agenda,Omondi said that he’s preparing for the upcoming second annual family festival scheduled for May 15 at the Kololo independence grounds in Uganda.
The appointment of the Kenyan comes barely a week after he was named among one of the top 50 CEO’s in Kenya by Africapitol.
