President William Ruto will be the Chief Guest and keynote speaker at the Nyanza International Investment Conference (NIIC) set to take place from February 6th to 8th, 2025, at Ciala Resort in Kisumu.
The conference, themed “Nyanza Rising – Towards Economic Transformation for Socio-Economic Growth and Development”, aims to promote economic growth and development in the Nyanza region.
It will bring together regional leaders, professionals, and both local and international stakeholders to showcase the region’s investment opportunities and attract potential local and foreign investors.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is expected to attend as a special guest.
The conference will also be graced by key figures, including Deputy Chief of Staff at the Executive Office of the President, Eliud Owalo, and Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba.
Governors from the region will also play a key role in the event. These include Ahmed Abdullahi, Anyang’ Nyong’o, James Orengo, Amos Nyaribo, Gladys Wanga, Ochillo Ayacko, and Simba Arati.

Cabinet Secretaries attending the event include Wycliffe Oparanya, John Mbadi, Ali Hassan Joho, Alice Wahome, Salim Mvurya, Eric Muuga, Opiyo Wandayi, Rebecca Miano, and Attorney General Dorcas Oduor.
Additionally, six Principal Secretaries are expected to attend, including Betsy Njagi (PS, Blue Economy and Fisheries), Raymond Omollo (PS, Interior and National Administration), Susan Mang’eni (PS, MSMEs Development), Alfred Ombudo (PS, Trade), Charles Hinga (PS, Housing and Urban Development), Esther Mworia (PS, Technical and Vocational Education and Training), Abubakar Hassan (PS, Investment Promotion), and Roseline Njogu (PS, Diaspora Affairs).
The conference will highlight commercial and development investment projects that will benefit local communities, county governments, the national government, and investors.
Nyanza, home to approximately seven million people, has significant natural resources and a per capita Gross County Product estimated at Sh190,000 (US$1,267), indicating substantial potential for economic growth.
