The collision involved a Skygo motorbike and an Isuzu FR truck, both traveling from Narok to Mai Mahiu.
According to a police report filed at Narok Police Station, the truck attempted to overtake the motorbike but misjudged the maneuver, pushing the motorcycle off the road and causing the deadly crash.
The truck then veered off and fled the scene, leaving the victims behind.
The motorbike’s rider, 25-year-old Leonard Ntoika Sanoe, and his pillion passenger, 60-year-old Parsariro Sanoe, both succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
A third passenger, 40-year-old Muyani Ntaiya, was thrown off the bike but survived with minor injuries.
He was quickly rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is currently in stable condition.
Following the incident, the bodies of the deceased were transported to the Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary, where post-mortem examinations are expected to take place to determine the exact cause of death.
The truck driver, who was responsible for the crash, fled the scene immediately after the accident and remains at large.
Local authorities have since launched a manhunt to capture the suspect.
Law enforcement officials are calling on the public to provide any information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the driver.
The incident has sparked further concerns over road safety in the area, with local residents urging for more stringent measures to ensure the safety of motorcyclists and other road users.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are working to ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families.
