President William Ruto is currently attending a church service in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, where he is marking his visit to the region.
Following the service, the president is expected to retreat to his Sugoi home, where he traditionally spends Christmas, engaging with local communities and sharing festive goodwill.
The President was warmly welcomed at the African Inland Church (AIC) in Kipkorgot by Governor Jonathan Bii and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.
Among those present to greet the Head of State was Gen Z activist Kasmuel McOure, known for his role in leading protests against the government in June.
Kasmuel, who recently joined the ODM party after meeting with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has faced criticism from his peers for switching allegiances to support President Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.
Despite the backlash, Kasmuel defended his decision, asserting that it was made independently and without outside pressure.
His presence at the event, alongside government officials and church leaders, signals a potential endorsement of Ruto’s administration.
Kasmuel’s actions have not gone unnoticed, with some ODM leaders expressing confidence in his leadership potential.
On Sunday, he was seen conversing with MP Oscar Sudi ahead of the president’s arrival.
“We are honored to welcome His Excellency the President to celebrate the opening of the new church sanctuary at AIC Kipkorgot in Ainabkoi Constituency, Uasin Gishu County,” Sudi shared on his social media.
“As Psalms 122:1 says, this is a testament to our unwavering faith and dedication.”
The event also marks the official unveiling of the AIC Kipkorgot sanctuary, which has been completed after several years of construction.
“This beautiful sanctuary stands as a symbol of the community’s steadfast faith and commitment,” Sudi added in his post.
