Police intensify crackdown on illicit alcohol in Uasin Gishu

Police officers in Uasin Gishu County have intensified operations targeting the production and distribution of illicit alcohol and other prohibited substances in a renewed effort to curb substance abuse.

The crackdown, conducted by the National Police Service (NPS), is part of ongoing measures aimed at protecting communities from the harmful effects associated with illegal brews and наркотics.

During a recent operation in the Jua-Kali Centre area of Turbo Sub-County, officers recovered approximately 70 litres of chang’aa from suspected dealers and arrested several individuals.

“During the operation, about 70 litres of chang’aa were recovered from various suspects, who were also arrested for offences related to possession of illicit brew and other drug-related violations,” police said.

The suspects are currently being held in custody pending arraignment, while the recovered alcohol has been secured as exhibits.

Police noted that the operation is part of a sustained nationwide campaign to dismantle networks involved in the manufacture and distribution of illicit brews and narcotics.
