Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Onyango Ayieko passed away due to head injuries.
Chief government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor indicated that these injuries resulted in bleeding within the brain.
“There was bleeding to the brain. Other than that there were bruises on the wrists caused by some cuffs found on him. There were also missing tissues on the mouth, ear and cheek,” he said.
Oduor clarified that the absence of certain tissues was due to animal predation at the location where the body was discovered.
The body was located in a stream in Siaya County several days following the murder.
“They were caused by water animals like fish and crabs. Infact we found a dead crab on the clothes. We think they were targeting the soft parts of the body,” he said.
Family pathologist Professor Emily Rogena, who was present during the examination, expressed her concurrence with the findings.
The examination took place at the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi and was attended by family members, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and Members of Parliament Sam Atandi and Elisha Odhiambo.
Martin Nyuguto, the Director of the Homicide Unit at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, was also in attendance.
The autopsy will serve as a foundational element for the case that detectives are currently preparing. On Monday, a suspect connected to the brutal murder was apprehended in Nairobi.
This arrest followed an investigation conducted by multi-agency teams, according to police reports.
The suspect, identified as Victor Ouma Okoth, was located in a residence he had rented in Nairobi’s Dandora Phase IV, using funds obtained from the crime.
Forensic analysis has placed him at the crime scene as part of the investigation led by a collaborative team from the DCI’s Homicide, CRIB, and Operations divisions.
The investigation remains active, with the team pursuing significant leads to identify and apprehend additional accomplices, as stated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Nairobi, where the body has been relocated as inquiries continue.
Among those who have been interrogated thus far are two Mpesa agents operating in Siaya.
The investigation into the murder of Ayieko has revealed that his assailants withdrew funds from his mobile banking account.
Detectives are collaborating with agents to identify the individuals who extracted at least Ksh 100,000 from various locations in Siaya between October 19 and 20.
A team of detectives from Nairobi joined local investigators on Thursday, reporting that they are following promising leads regarding the circumstances of his violent death.
The police are currently looking into charges of murder and robbery with violence related to this case.
Ayieko, a licensed firearm owner, had his pistol, along with 14 rounds of ammunition, stolen during the incident.
His remains were discovered in the Mungowere stream in Yala, Siaya County, on October 23 at 2 PM, after his family reported him missing on October 21.
Upon discovery by a student, the body was found in a decomposed state, exhibiting bruises on the face and abdomen.
It was partially clothed and appeared to have been assaulted elsewhere before being discarded at the location.
Following the murder, the perpetrators drove Ayieko’s vehicle to the Sabatia area in Kakamega, a few kilometers from where the body was located, and abandoned it by the roadside.
Ayieko had been last seen on October 18, after attending a burial vigil in Gem, Siaya County, where he remained until approximately 10 PM before disappearing.
His family noted that he had traveled from Nairobi, informing them of his return on Monday to attend two funeral events.
He had flown from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Kisumu around 1 PM and collected his four-wheel drive vehicle that was awaiting him.
The vehicle was equipped with a dash camera and a tracking device.
Two men, who abandoned the car in Sabatia, were seen wearing caps and did not look up as they left the scene.
They parked the vehicle near a petrol station and opened the bonnet to create the impression of a mechanical failure before departing with a bag, which is believed to have contained Ayieko’s personal items and other valuables.
