Club Owner Who Assaulted Bella Comedian Arrested, Arraigned Following Public Uproar


Businessman man Bernard ‘Motiriot’ Kipkosgei of Pavilion Lounge has been arrested and arraigned before a Nairobi court, Nairobi News has learnt.

Kipkosgei was arrested by Lang’ata Law Enforcement Officers on the morning of Monday, August 11, 2025.

News of Motiriot’s arrest was first made public by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) through it’s official social media pages on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

In a post sighted by this writer, Motiriot Kipkosgei was arrested for physically assaulting Bella Comedian in an incident that attracted massive public outcry.

According to DCI, Bella Comedian suffered grievous injuries and lost Sh 30,000, not to mention other valuables.

The businessman was arraigned in court on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, but pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Kipkosgei is being charged with assault and robbery with violence.

“BRUTE WHO SAVAGED A WOMAN AT CARNIVORE GROUNDS ARRAIGNED

The man caught on camera savagely beating a woman at the Kutit Culture Event on August 9, 2025, has been arrested by Lang’ata Law Enforcement Officers.

Benard Kipkosgei, aka Pavilion Motiriot, was nabbed after footage of him pummelling and kicking a defenceless woman at Carnivore Grounds, exploded online, sparking national outrage.

In the violent rampage, the woman lost Sh30,000, her mobile phone, and other valuables. Social media lit up with fury demanding justice.

Responding swiftly, officers trailed and arrested the suspect. He was arraigned on August 11, 2025, where he faced assault and robbery with violence charges.

Motiriot pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the matter has been scheduled for mention on August 18, 2025,” DCI wrote on Facebook.

His arrest impressed countless Kenyans who took to social media to celebrate, among them Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.

In his celebratory post, Sudi wrote!

“Iwe funzo kwa wenye tabia kama hizi.”

As earlier reported by Nairobi News, Oscar had earlier called on Kipkosgei to surrender to the nearest police station after he was captured on camera assaulting Bella Comedian at the Carnivore Grounds.

The video made rounds on social media and irked many netizens who called for Kipkosgei’s arrest.
