The family of Conrad Nyabuto, a man tragically stabbed 27 times by his girlfriend on his 27th birthday in Ruiru, Kiambu County, has shared insights into the events leading up to his death.
During his funeral in Kiogoro Village, Kisii, relatives revealed that Conrad had been contemplating ending his relationship, a decision they believe may have triggered the fatal confrontation.
“Conrad died after being stabbed 27 times, with wounds to his chest, a slit throat, and cuts on his head, left side, and thighs.
This is how we lost our brother,” a family member recounted.
“He had confided in some female friends, saying, ‘I want to break up with that lady,’ describing her as a real burden.”
Postmortem results indicated that he succumbed to internal bleeding at the scene of the crime.
The family is now demanding justice, urging authorities to hold those responsible accountable.
“We want a thorough investigation without interference; justice must prevail for our family,” emphasized a relative.
Conrad was found dead on December 23, 2024, in the Kamakis area of Ruiru, with his body discovered by neighbors in his girlfriend’s home, surrounded by blood.
His girlfriend is currently under observation at Kenyatta Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) for stab wounds, while detectives continue their investigation.
The incident has ignited an online movement labeled #JusticeForConrad, with users voicing concerns over potential political influences affecting the case.
In a related event, earlier in November, a couple in Kisii County was reported dead in what appears to have been a love triangle.
A medic and a woman named Angela Moraa were discovered dead in their rented house, holding hands on a mattress.
Angela’s family alleges she endured torture prior to her death and noted that multiple reports had been lodged with the Keroka Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) about a suspected hitman who had been threatening her.
The motives behind both murders are still being investigated by the DCI.
