A suspected thug was Thursday night shot and killed in a botched robbery in Huruma, Nairobi.
Police said the suspect was among a group that had been attacking and robbing locals of their valuables when an alarm was raised. A police team that was on patrol in the area responded and confronted the group along Nduru-Runo Road and confronted them killing one.
The other two accomplices managed to escape on foot, police said.
Police said the gang had been robbing pedestrians in the area when the incident happened.
A Somali sword, an imitation of a pistol and other assorted suspected stolen valuables were recovered from the slain man.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy.
Elsewhere in Migori’s Kegonga area police shot at a gang that broke into a shop and escaped with gas cylinders and assorted goods.
The gang escaped the scene, police said.
And police in Chepchoina, Trans Nzoia County are investigating an incident where a 14-year-old boy drowned in a dam. The boy was among a group who were swimming at Nai Farm Dam on October 15, 2025 when he drowned, police said.
The body was recovered from the scene a day later.
The police are investigating the incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Embu Town, a suspected thug was lynched and his body set on fire over claims he was involved in an incident of robbery of a motorcycle.
The police arrived at the scene minutes later and recovered the charred remains to the mortuary.

The police want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution. Dozens of suspects have been lynched in separate incidents in the past months in a worrying trend amid a campaign against the issue.
