The Kenya Police Service has disclosed that plans are underway to take action against Kibra MP Peter Orero who was recently captured on video flouting traffic laws.

Police have confirmed that they are considering summoning MP Orero’s driver who was involved in a road rage incident between himself, the politician and CNN journalist Larry Madowo.

As earlier reported by Nairobi News, a video from the incident went viral on social media in a move that irked many Kenyans who called on relevant bodies to take action against the MP.

Speaking during an interview with a local TV station on Friday, October 10, 2025, Ochieng confirmed that authorities are in the process of tracing the vehicle involved in the melee.

The Traffic Commandant disclosed that once the registration number is verified, action will be taken against the driver responsible at the time of the incident who will be summoned for questioning, after which appropriate action will be taken against him.

“If we happen to get that clip, then we will get the registration number of the vehicle, and after getting the registration number, we will summon whoever was driving that particular vehicle at that particular time for questioning, and then action will be taken,” Ochieng said.

According to Ochieng, a vehicle displaying a diplomatic number plate was reported moving in the wrong direction in a separate but similar incident.

He revealed that investigations have since established that the car was not an official diplomatic vehicle but was using a diplomatic plate illegally.

The Commandant added that police are pursuing this matter to determine the full circumstances behind the misuse of the plate.

“As I am speaking with you now, there is a diplomatic vehicle that had been sent to us moving in the wrong direction, opposite direction. It so happened that the car was not actually a diplomatic vehicle. It was a diplomatic number plate that was used in a vehicle which was not diplomatic. We are still pursuing that matter,” he said.
