It is common knowledge that some if not all politicians across the world usually pick a strong team to work on their campaigns and guarantee them the much-needed win in elections through landslide voting.
Some would even go for celebrities who command masses to tap on to their numbers for their own good, come election day.
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan is not an exception as she too sort the services of various local celebrities to help her retain her seat through the country’s General Election held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Among Tanzanian celebrities who were picked by Suluhu’s campaign team is none other than singer Nandy’s husband, rapper Billnass.
Billnass and a host of other celebrities have been campaigning for Samia’s re-election and even voted for her in the General Election.
Well, Billnass’ decision to support Samia and even voting for her did not auger down well with countless Tanzanians who opted to dealing with him perpendicularly.
Nairobi News has learnt that a group of irate protesters who had hit the streets to call out Samia for what they termed as dictatorship, invaded Billnass’ phone shop dubbed Nenga Tronix and vandalised it.
That is not all, the protestors also set the shop ablaze, leaving Billnass counting losses.
Videos showing the phone shop going up in flames went viral online but instead of being consoled, most Tanzanians and even Kenyans dragged him online for supporting and voting for Suluhu.

This writer understands Billnass suffered huge losses owing to the fact that his phone usually stocks high-end gadgets.
It is important to note that Tanzanians hit the streets from the evening of Tuesday, October 28, althrough to Wednesday, October 29, to condemn Samia Suluhu for hurting the country’s democracy by jailing all her top competitors such as Tundu Lisu.
Many invaded polling stations and destroyed voting material but the election proceeded nevertheless.
