Celebrated Tanzanian singer Zuchu is an aggrieved individual after missing payments for her performance during the CHAN finals held at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani on August 30, 2025.
Nairobi News understands Zuchu was the headliner for the event and gave a thrilling performance.
However, the musician did not receive her full payment in a move that forced her to call out CHAN and the agency that was responsible for contracting performers for failing to complete her payment.

Taking to her Instagram page on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Zuchu exposed the organisers of the event, revealing that despite fulfilling her part of the agreement by delivering an energetic performance, she has yet to receive the full payment owed to her.
In an official statement titled Outstanding CHAN 2025 Payment for Completed Performance, the singer expressed her dissatisfaction with the organisers, especially the LEAP Creative Agency, which she had an agreement with.
“I am writing to express my concern and frustration regarding the outstanding payment for my recent performance in Nairobi on August 30th, 2025. As per our agreement with your agents at LEAP Creative Agency, the full balance for my services was due upon completion of the event. Yet, despite my team’s and my continuous patience and understanding, I have yet to receive the full payment,” she wrote.
In her post, Zuchu reiterated that her management team had been in constant communication with the agency, including the CEO, Mr. Roshan Soomarshun, but their attempts had yielded no results.
According to the WCB signee, the agency had sent proof of payment (POPs) that later turned out to be unverifiable and suspicious.
She expressed her disappointment at the lack of professionalism and respect, calling out the organisers for not meeting their end of the agreement.
She wrapped up by declaring that she would not tolerate the delay any longer.
“I have upheld my end of the agreement by delivering a performance that I dedicated myself fully to ensuring it met the highest standards. It is highly disappointing to find that the same level of professionalism has not been extended in return when it comes to fulfilling your financial obligations. As an artist, I expect to be treated with the respect and fairness that any professional artist deserves,”she added.

It should be noted that her expose came barely a fortnight after thrilling fans at ten CHAN final.
Her performance sparked mixed reactions online with many Kenyans calling her out for giving a substandard show.
This was inspired by her earlier attack on Kenyan artists and Kenyans.
The musician had earlier claimed she cannot collaborate with Kenyan artists after Kenyans launched attack on President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Zuchu, however, denied the claims holding that she never talked ill of Kenyans as she really values them.
