44-Year-Old Man Hotel Employee Fatally Stabbed In Suspected Robbery Outside His Home In Kariobangi Estate

A 44-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a suspected robbery outside his home in the Kariobangi estate of Nairobi.

The victim, Emmanuel Khamasi, an employee at Serena Hotels, arrived home around 2 AM on Tuesday.

As per his usual routine, he called his wife to open the main gate for him.

His wife told police that she woke up, tossed the key from the balcony, and then returned to bed, unaware of the danger her husband was facing outside.

It was at this moment that unknown assailants confronted Khamasi, leading to a violent struggle.

The attackers appeared to be after his valuables, including cash and his mobile phone, and they stabbed him in the chest, killing him instantly.

It wasn’t until 6 AM that his wife realized something was wrong when neighbors informed her that Khamasi’s body was lying by the gate.

The heart-wrenching news devastated her. Due to the busy festive season, hotel staff members often return home late at night, leaving them vulnerable to such crimes.

When police arrived at the scene, they transported the body to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.

Nairobi Police Chief Adamson Bungei confirmed that operations have been initiated in the area to apprehend the gang responsible for this horrific incident.

In a separate incident, a 37-year-old man was lynched by a mob after fatally attacking his father in Muembeni village, located within the Ndetani sub-location of Makueni County.

Joseph Muteti allegedly killed his 72-year-old father, Muteti Musyimi, during an altercation where he struck his father with a stone, resulting in immediate death.

The attack occurred on the night of December 9, and Joseph’s mother, who witnessed the incident, raised an alarm that prompted villagers to respond swiftly.

They intercepted Joseph and subsequently lynched him. His mother reported to police that her son had previously refused to take his medication.

Authorities were called to both scenes and have since moved the bodies to the mortuary. Investigations are ongoing into both tragedies, which have shocked the local communities.
