Gen Z Eric Lloyd Ochieng found dead at Ngong Forest days after mysterious WhatsApp call

What began as a routine evening at home for Eric Lloyd Ochieng has ended in tragedy.

The young Kerarapon resident vanished on Monday, February 16, 2026, shortly after 5 p.m.

According to his family, Eric stepped out of their home in Valley Hills 4th Rise after receiving a phone call believed to have been made via WhatsApp by someone unknown to them.

He reportedly left as though he was heading to meet someone nearby, but he never returned.

As hours turned into days, worry grew. His family mounted an emotional online campaign, appealing to Kenyans for help in tracing their missing son.

In a message that circulated widely across social media platforms, his father, CBG Ouma, shared their distress:

“This is our son Eric Lloyd Ochieng. He lives with us in Valley Hills 4th Rise. He has been missing since Monday 16th Feb 2026 at 5pm. He left home on that day at 5pm after a phone conversation with someone unknown to us. The call must have been a WhatsApp call that is not easy to track. He left as if he was just going to meet someone in the neighbourhood. He has been missing since then. He walks around Kerarapon with his black and white chihuahua pet dog. If you see him, or have any information that could assist us trace him, please call 0713937282 0720 221749 or any police station. Thank you. CBG Ouma (Father)”

The appeal touched many, with netizens resharing the post in hopes of bringing Eric home safely.

Sadly, that hope was shattered on Tuesday, February 24, when a social media user said to be close to the family announced that Eric’s body had been discovered in Ngong Forest.

The message read:

“Sadly Eric was found dead at Ngong Forest yesterday. Please don’t communicate with people using WhatsApp calls if they are in the country, insist on direct calls. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Ngong Forest, located along Ngong Road near Nairobi, is one of the capital’s remaining indigenous forests, covering over 1,200 hectares.

While it serves as a recreational and conservation area, it has previously been linked to isolated security incidents that have raised public concern.
