MP Zaheer Jhanda gifts cop Sh20k for rescuing accident victims in Kisii accident


Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has rewarded a police officer with KSh 20,000 in recognition of his outstanding bravery and professionalism during a recent road accident along the Kisii–Keroka route in Kisii County.

The legislator presented the cash token to Officer Derrick Oguok, who is attached to Keroka Police Station, after images of him rescuing and assisting victims of the accident circulated widely online.

Jhanda described the officer’s actions as exemplary and deserving of both recognition and encouragement.

The accident, which occurred at Kegati in Kisii County during heavy rains, left several victims in distress.

Despite the challenging weather conditions and the urgency of the situation, Oguok reportedly worked tirelessly at the scene, helping to evacuate victims, coordinate emergency response efforts, and ensure their safety.
