Kabogo appoints Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno to ICT authority board

Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has appointed Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno to the board of the Information and Communication Technology Authority.

In a gazette notice dated April 2, Naiyanoi—widow of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno—was named as a board member for a three-year term, effective immediately.

Following the appointment, ICTA Board Chairperson Lily Ng’ok Kirui welcomed her to the team, expressing confidence in her capabilities.

“Welcome to the Information and Communication Technology Authority (ICTA) Board Mrs. Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno. I am looking forward to working closely with you. I have no doubt in your abilities and the contribution you will make to the team,” she said.

Kirui added that the board would work collectively to achieve its mandate. “Together, we will fulfil our collective mandate,” she noted.

Naiyanoi came into the public spotlight following the tragic death of her husband in a helicopter crash on February 28, 2026, which claimed six lives.

She had earlier been endorsed to contest the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat left vacant by her late husband but declined the opportunity.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen the ICTA board as it continues to oversee Kenya’s digital transformation agenda.
