The gloves are off even as the fallout between Oga Obinna and Majembe takes a sad turn, with the once cordial relationship between the Vurugu Boxing promoter and one of its biggest stars now unraveling in public.
In their latest tiff, Oga Obinna has responded to Majembe in a not-so-calm manner, days after the boxer publicly explained the reasons behind his fallout with the comedian and event organiser.
Majembe, whose real name is Portifas Odipo, recently issued an official statement announcing that he would not be taking part in the upcoming edition of the Vurugu Boxing bout.

The amateur boxer, who rose to prominence following his high-profile clash with Mbavu Destroyer during the inaugural Vurugu event, cited disagreements with Obinna over the organisation of the fight.
In his statement, Majembe maintained that the decision was not easy but was necessary after attempts to resolve their differences failed.
“After careful consideration and due to unresolved issues surrounding the arrangements for the upcoming Vurugu Boxing event, I have decided that I will not be participating. I appreciate everyone who has supported me throughout this journey and I remain committed to the sport. I hope that in future we can find common ground and work together again,” Majembe said in part.
The announcement came as a shock to many fans who had been eagerly waiting to see him back in the ring during the second edition of the fast-growing boxing entertainment event.
However, Obinna appeared unimpressed by Majembe’s explanation.
Following the statement, the media personality hit back with a short yet harsh response that signalled just how strained their relationship has become.
“If he’s not interested with Vurugu Boxing, let him organise his own bout,” Obinna responded.
The blunt remark has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users backing Obinna’s stance as the brains behind the event, while others felt he could have handled the matter more diplomatically considering
Majembe’s contribution to the success of the inaugural edition.
The public exchange marks another chapter in a feud that has steadily escalated over the past few days. Earlier, Obinna had addressed the fallout, claiming that there were misunderstandings regarding the terms of the fight and alleging that individuals close to Majembe had influenced his decision to pull out.

He insisted that Vurugu Boxing was built to uplift local talent and create opportunities for upcoming fighters.
Majembe, on the other hand, maintained that he had legitimate concerns that could not be ignored.
Reports indicated that disagreements over contractual terms and communication breakdowns played a significant role in his decision to step away from the event.
The fallout is particularly disappointing given the role both men played in making Vurugu Boxing one of Kenya’s most talked-about sporting entertainment concepts this year.
The maiden event attracted thousands of fans and generated massive online buzz, helping shine a spotlight on grassroots boxing talent.
Majembe became a fan favourite following his victory over Mbavu Destroyer, while Obinna earned praise for creating a platform that blended sports and entertainment in a unique way.
With Vurugu Boxing 2 edging closer, it remains unclear whether the two will eventually reconcile or if Majembe’s exit will become permanent.
For now, however, it appears that both camps are standing their ground.
As fans continue to speculate about what truly transpired behind the scenes, one thing is certain: the friendship and working relationship that once fuelled the success of Vurugu Boxing is facing its toughest test yet.
