Football Fan’s Car Stolen While Watching Harambee Stars Match At Nyayo Stadium

A football fan is mourning the loss of his car, which was stolen while parked along Kisauni Road behind Nairobi West Hospital as he attended the World Cup Qualifier match between Kenya’s Harambee Stars and Gabon’s national team at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking to authorities at Akila Police Station in Lang’ata, the car owner explained, “I parked my silver Toyota IST (registration number KBN 093B) at around 3:40 PM and went to watch the match.

After the game, I returned just past 7 PM, only to find my car was missing. I couldn’t believe it.”

The man, still recovering from the disappointment of the 2-1 loss to Gabon, promptly reported the theft to the police.

He provided “sufficient proof of ownership” and the vehicle has since been circulated as stolen.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Lang’ata is now leading the investigation into the incident.

“It’s really frustrating to be a victim of such a crime, especially while you’re just out enjoying a match,” he added.

In a separate case, police in Juja are investigating the theft of a white Toyota Axio (registration number KCR 628U).

The car was taken from a residential house in Matangi, near Rurii Primary School in Kimbo.

The owner, who parked the vehicle outside their home on Saturday night, discovered it was missing the following morning.

“I had parked it outside my house, and when I woke up, the car was gone. I’m hoping the police can help track it down,” the owner said.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the stolen vehicles to come forward.
