Over 150 Exhibitors To Champion Eco-Friendly Packaging Solutions at Propak East Africa 2025 In Nairobi


More than 150 local and international exhibitors are expected to gather in Nairobi from 20th to 22nd May for the Propak East Africa Conference and Expo 2025, set to take place at the Sarit Expo Centre.

The event will spotlight cutting-edge, eco-friendly innovations in packaging, printing, and food processing, with a strong focus on sustainability and reducing environmental waste.

Now in its annual edition, Propak East Africa brings together stakeholders from the packaging, plastics, printing, and food and beverage industries to showcase solutions addressing the climate crisis caused by packaging waste.

Angela Kinyua, Managing Director at Montgomery Group East Africa, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s expanded event.

We expect game-changing products and innovations. Over 150 exhibitors will be present, and we encourage stakeholders to register and participate,” said Kinyua.

She stressed the importance of embracing sustainable alternatives already available in the market.

“Many current materials can be replaced with affordable, high-quality, eco-friendly options. The solutions exist it’s about creating awareness and driving adoption,” she added.

According to the World Bank’s What a Waste 2.0 report, the world produces over 2 billion tonnes of waste annually, with more than 33% not managed safely.

In Kenya, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) estimates that 8 million tonnes of waste are generated each year, with much of Nairobi’s waste being illegally dumped or incinerated, posing major environmental and health risks.

Under the theme “Unwrapping the Future”, this year’s expo aims to inspire environmental responsibility and drive collaborative solutions for sustainable growth.

Exhibitors include global and regional leaders such as Tetra Pak, Krones, Uchumi Quick Suppliers, Wichmann Systems, Digital Packaging Innovations, Filmatic, Skyland Masterbatch, and Bobst/Multigraph, among others.
