Close to 1,000 police officers from the larger Eastern Region are the latest to be transfered from their stations in efforts to enhance strength and balancing at the National Police Service. This is a according to a memo sent to the county police commanders in Machakos, Marsabit,Makueni, Meru, Kitui, Isiolo,Tharaka Nithi and Kilifi Counties. The family of murdered black civil rights activist Malcolm X are suing the FBI, the CIA and the New York police department (NYPD) for $100m (£79m), accusing them of a role in his death. The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) moved to the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn the High Court ruling that allowed Nairobi county government officer Wilson Kanani to access Sh642.2 million worth of assets. The ruling by Justice Nixon Sifuna gave Kanani the greenlight to keep the assets, which the anti-graft body had declared unexplained wealth. A woman died Friday evening after jumping off the 14th floor of Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). The woman identified as Lucy but known as @seasonedbricks on X had been expressing suicidal thoughts on the platform. She posted a suicidal message on her handle before she went to KICC in the company of a relative and later went to the 14th floor where she is believed to have jumped off. At least 31 suspects linked to a fake gold scam syndicate were Tuesday arrested in a crackdown by detectives from the Operations Support Unit in Runda, Ridgeways and Industrial Area parts of Nairobi. During the operation, investigators seized key evidence, including counterfeit gold, spray paint, and padlocks used to create the fake gold. The arrests followed a scam in which two foreign nationals were duped into purchasing 35 kilograms of fake gold, losing over Sh5 million in the process.
