Betty Bayo ‘s Daughter Sky Defends Step Dad Tash, Denies Claims He Takes All Her Money

The late gospel singer Betty Bayo ‘s daughter, Sky Victor, has come out strongly to defend her stepfather Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, amid growing claims on social media that he controls her finances and mistreats her following her mother’s death.

The teenage content creator addressed the allegations during a TikTok Live session, where she firmly dismissed reports that money she earns as an influencer is being withheld by her stepfather until she turns 18.

Sky, who has increasingly become a familiar face on social media since the passing of her mother, made it clear that she has always been protective of her finances and would never allow anyone to access money that belongs to her.

“I hear you people say that he has my money and that he will give me when I am 18. Do you think I would allow that?” Sky posed during the livestream.

She explained that even when her mother was alive, she preferred having her earnings deposited into a separate account that only she could access.

The outspoken teenager went on to stress that all income she receives from her influencer activities goes directly into her personal account.

“What if we wrong each other? I would never get my money back. I have my account, and my money goes to my account. So who said that?” she said while dismissing the rumours.

Sky’s comments come after fresh speculation emerged online regarding the welfare of Betty Bayo’s children.

The debate intensified after some individuals close to the family raised concerns about the children’s wellbeing, prompting a wave of public discussion across social media platforms.

However, Sky appeared frustrated by the continued scrutiny, arguing that the public conversations were causing more harm than good.

“Either way, you are saying I am protecting these kids. It’s doing more of hurting us because you are bringing a lot of drama. Unnecessary drama. It’s hurting us more than helping us,” she said.

She further urged those discussing her family matters online to stop attacking Tash, insisting that he has played a fatherly role in her life for years.

“Stop whatever you are saying. Just continue posting your normal content; stop helping us. If you think you are seeing something that you do not like, you are hurting me. It hurts when you see people saying things about your dad. He is not as bad as you people say,” Sky added.

In an emotional moment, the teenager reflected on how difficult life has been since losing her mother, admitting that many of the controversies surrounding her family would probably not exist if Betty Bayo were still alive.

“Sometimes I sit down and say none of these things would be happening if mum were alive. This is all happening because mum is gone. It is not fair,” she lamented.

The latest remarks are consistent with Sky’s previous public statements defending both her biological father, Pastor Victor Kanyari, and her stepfather.

In the months following Betty Bayo’s death, Sky repeatedly urged Kenyans not to create divisions within her family, maintaining that she loves both father figures and appreciates the support they have given her during a difficult period.

Over the past several months, Sky and Tash have frequently shared moments together online, from family outings to everyday activities, with many fans praising the close bond they appear to have maintained despite the family’s loss.

Several videos shared on social media have shown Tash actively involved in raising both Sky and her younger brother Danny, helping fuel public conversations about their relationship.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Sky’s latest message leaves little room for doubt about where she stands.

The teenager insists she is capable of speaking for herself and wants people to stop spreading narratives that paint Tash in a negative light.

For now, her message is simple: the rumours about her money are false, and the continued attacks on her stepfather are only making an already difficult situation harder for the family to navigate.
