A 57-year-old bishop of a protestant church died after he was trapped by the debris of a building under construction in Heni area, Nyandarua County.
The incident happened on August 13 evening in the village as the deceased and his two children were constructing the structure, police said.
Police said a building of HM Israel church had collapsed and killed its bishop Johana Kibue, 57.
He was the bishop and owner of the church and was then the mason.
He was with his children at the church carrying out construction works when it collapsed and trapped him while the children managed to escape unhurt.
Police visited the scene and with the locals managed to retrieve the body of the man. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.
Police and officials from the local county visited the scene on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigations.
And police in Olkalau area, Nyandarua County are investigating the murder of a 13-year-old girl whose body was discovered in a farm on Wednesday.
It is not clear what motivated the murder of the teenage girl, police said.
Police said the body lay in a bush and had multiple physical injuries including in the head.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations. Police said no arrest has been made over the incident.
The police want to establish if the girl was assaulted. Locals have demanded action to address the matter immediately.
