The remains of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga arrived this morning at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), marking a solemn moment in the nation’s grief.
The Kenya Airways flight, originally designated KQ203, was switched to call sign RAO001 as it entered Kenyan airspace, in honor of the late leader.
The aircraft touched down at approximately 09:30 a.m.
Onboard the flight were Kenyan delegations and Odinga’s family. Among those accompanying the body was his daughter, Winnie Odinga, as part of the repatriation team that had travelled to India.
The Kenyan delegation included Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Senator Oketch, Governor Johnson Sakaja, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, MP Kimani Ichung’wah and others

At JKIA, the body was received by President William Ruto, joined by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, senior government officials, and the Odinga family.
The reception was marked by military honors: the casket draped in the Kenyan flag, military pallbearers, and a 19-gun salute.
From JKIA, the remains were transported under heavy security to Lee Funeral Home for final preparations, before being moved to Parliament Buildings for public viewing later in the afternoon.
