Can You See Who Saved Your TikToks?

TikTok is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world, with millions of users sharing and engaging with videos daily. As content creators become more conscious of their digital presence and how their posts are received, many wonder: can you see who saved your TikToks?

The simple answer is no — TikTok does not currently allow users to see exactly who has saved their videos. However, there are a few important details and settings worth understanding when it comes to video downloads, saves, and user privacy on the app.

What Happens When Someone Saves Your TikTok?

When someone “saves” a TikTok, it usually means one of two things: they’ve either downloaded the video to their device, or they’ve added it to their “Favorites” within the app. Both actions help users revisit videos they like or want to reference later.

If a user downloads your TikTok, and your privacy settings allow it, the video is stored on their device, usually with a TikTok watermark and your username. However, TikTok does not send a notification or provide a list of people who downloaded or saved the video. The same applies to adding your video to favorites — you won’t know who has done it.

Creator Tools: What You Can Track

While you can’t see the exact names of users who saved or favorited your video, TikTok does offer analytics for Pro accounts (now called Creator accounts). These tools allow you to track how well your content is performing. You can view metrics such as:

  • The number of shares your video received.
  • Total video views and average watch time.
  • The number of times your video was downloaded (only the count, not the user identities).
  • Engagement metrics like likes, comments, and profile visits.

This data can help you understand what kind of content your audience enjoys, but it stops short of showing who took specific actions like saving or downloading.

How to Control Who Can Save Your Videos

If you’re concerned about people downloading your videos without permission, TikTok gives you the option to limit or disable this. You can manage video download permissions by going to your settings:

  1. Open your TikTok profile.
  2. Tap the three-line menu (≡) at the top right.
  3. Select “Settings and Privacy.”
  4. Tap “Privacy,” then scroll down to “Downloads.”
  5. You can then choose to allow or disallow downloads of your videos.

Disabling this option prevents others from saving your videos to their devices, although they can still favorite your content within the app.

As TikTok continues to grow, so does the demand for greater transparency and control over content. While users have asked for features that show who saves or favorites their videos, TikTok has not introduced this capability. The platform prioritizes user privacy and ease of content sharing, which is part of its viral appeal.

Still, as with any social platform, it’s important to share content with the understanding that once it’s public, it can be saved, shared, or recorded in ways you can’t fully control. Creators are encouraged to remain cautious with sensitive or personal content.
