Dorea Chege Breaks Silence on Baby No. 2 Speculation After Zanzibar Getaway

Kenyan actress and digital content creator Dorea Chege has addressed growing speculation that she could be expecting her second child with her partner, DJ Dibul.

The rumours began circulating online after the couple travelled to Zanzibar for a private getaway, with some fans claiming they had noticed what appeared to be a baby bump in photos and videos shared from the trip.

Rather than directly confirming or dismissing the claims, Dorea gave an intriguing response when asked about the pregnancy speculation during an event on Tuesday, September 29.

“Let’s wait and see, maybe or maybe not. You never know, but I’m 100 per cent ready,” Dorea said.

Her response immediately added another layer of mystery to the discussion, leaving fans wondering whether the actress was simply playing along with the speculation or deliberately keeping a possible announcement private.

Zanzibar trip fuels baby No. 2 speculation

The pregnancy talk came shortly after Dorea and DJ Dibul shared moments from their Zanzibar vacation.

The couple appeared to enjoy a relaxing getaway, including an outing where they interacted with turtles.

Their trip attracted considerable attention because they had previously kept a relatively low profile as a couple on social media.

Dibul had earlier teased the trip by sharing content from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and asking his followers to guess their destination.

Dorea later confirmed that they had travelled to Zanzibar, sharing a playful caption about the getaway.

“Zanzibar is doing us good…this was a much-needed break minus shiku 🤣 🤔 Thank you for curating this for us,” she wrote, according to reports.

The posts quickly attracted attention from their followers, with some fans turning their focus from the vacation itself to Dorea’s appearance and speculating about whether the couple could soon announce another addition to their family.

Dorea and DJ Dibul are already parents

Dorea and DJ Dibul welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2025.

The couple announced the arrival of their baby girl on March 24, 2025, following Dorea’s public pregnancy announcement earlier that year.

Their daughter was later revealed to be named Tipharah Meleah Wanjiku Ndegwa, although the couple affectionately refers to her as Shiku.

Motherhood has been an important part of Dorea’s social media journey, with the actress occasionally opening up about the realities of pregnancy, childbirth and raising her daughter.

In March 2026, she reflected on her difficult delivery, revealing that she endured 18 hours of labour before undergoing emergency surgery.

“18 hours of labour. Emergency surgery. And I’d do it all again without hesitation. Because that’s how much I wanted you, my wanjiku,” Dorea wrote in a heartfelt post.

She described her daughter as her “miracle” and “answered prayer”, showing just how significant the journey into motherhood has been for her.

The couple keeps their daughter’s face private
While Dorea and Dibul have shared glimpses of their family life, they have deliberately chosen not to publicly reveal their daughter’s face.

Even after Shiku turned one in March 2026, the couple continued to shield her face in family photos.

Dorea has explained that they are simply taking their time and intend to introduce their daughter publicly when they feel ready.

“We are not in a hurry. We are still taking our time. God’s time is always the best. When the time comes, we will reveal. We, as the parents, just feel we are not ready yet,” she said.

The decision highlights the boundaries the couple has established around their family despite maintaining a significant public presence.
