A driver was shot and wounded on Friday evening after an alleged hit-and-run incident and a subsequent pursuit in Nairobi’s Dagoretti area.
According to police, the incident occurred at about 7:10 p.m. on June 26, 2026, at the Oleguruone–Mijikenda Junction.
Police officers visited the scene and established that the driver of a white Toyota Land Cruiser, had sustained a gunshot wound to his right shoulder.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver was allegedly fleeing after being involved in a traffic accident in the Kilimani area and was being pursued by a traffic police officer on a motorcycle.
Upon reaching the Oleguruone–Mijikenda Junction, the Land Cruiser was reportedly blocked by another motorist driving a Toyota Prado.
Police said the driver resisted, prompting the Prado driver to alight and fire three shots at him before fleeing the scene.
The injured driver was rushed to The Nairobi Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition and receiving treatment.
Scene of Crime personnel documented the scene and recovered three spent 9mm cartridges. The damaged Land Cruiser was towed to Muthangari Police Station as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify the gunman.
Meanwhile, police in Marsabit are pursuing an armed robbery suspect who fled after allegedly dropping a pistol during a struggle with a motorcycle rider he had robbed.
According to police, the incident occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on June 26, 2026, in the Majengo area and was reported later that night.
A motorcycle rider had been robbed at gunpoint.

Police found the victim, Abdirahaman Guyo Ali, 24, with bruises on both knees and palms. He told investigators that a man posing as a customer approached him at JJ Center stage and hired his motorcycle for a trip to Majengo.
Upon reaching the destination, the suspect, who was described as wearing a red jumper and a black cap, allegedly drew a pistol and robbed the rider of his red Boxer motorcycle.
A struggle reportedly ensued during the robbery, causing the suspect to drop a mini CZ-style pistol at the scene before escaping with the stolen motorcycle.
Crime scene officers documented the scene, and the recovered firearm together with its ammunition was taken to Marsabit Police Station as exhibits.
Police have intensified patrols and launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large. Investigations into the robbery are ongoing.
