A terrifying security scare unfolded in Los Angeles after a woman allegedly opened fire on global pop superstar Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion while the singer and her family were reportedly inside.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the dramatic incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when multiple gunshots were fired toward the singer’s upscale residence in the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles.
Authorities later arrested a 35-year-old suspect identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who is now facing an attempted murder charge.
Gunshots Shatter Calm in Luxury Neighborhood
Police say the suspect fired between five and ten rounds toward the gated property at around 1:20 p.m., striking the exterior gate and parts of the residence.
The shots were reportedly fired from a vehicle parked outside the property.
At the time of the incident, Rihanna was believed to be inside the mansion with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three young children. Fortunately, no one was injured despite the terrifying ordeal.
Witnesses reported hearing a rapid series of gunshots that echoed through the quiet upscale neighborhood, triggering a swift response from police.
Bullet holes were later found on the property’s front gate and nearby structures, confirming the house had been directly targeted.
Suspect Arrested Shortly After Shooting
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene but was arrested about 30 minutes later at a shopping center roughly eight miles away.
Investigators also recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the shooting.
Ortiz is currently being held on bail exceeding $10 million while detectives continue investigating the motive behind the brazen attack.
Police have not established any known connection between the suspect and the Grammy-winning singer.
