The system then prompts the applicant to upload scanned copies of their national ID, driving school certificate, and any other necessary documents.
Once all details are filled in, the applicant proceeds to make payment for the driving license. Payment can be made via mobile money services like M-Pesa, debit or credit card, or direct bank transfer. The cost of a one-year driving license is Sh650, while a three-year license costs Sh1,450. For those applying for a smart driving license, the fee is Sh3,050.
Issuance and Collection of Driving License
After completing the online application and payment, NTSA processes the application, and the applicant is notified via SMS or email when the driving license is ready for collection. For those applying for a standard driving license, the temporary document generated from the TIMS portal can be used until the official license is issued.
