Human body parts recovered near railway line in Limuru

Police in Kiambu County launched investigations after suspected human body parts believed to belong to a man who disappeared about two weeks ago were discovered near a railway line in the Roromo area.

The incident was reported on June 24, 2026 after residents stumbled upon what appeared to be human remains and alerted authorities.

The missing man was identified as James Mwai Mbuthi, who had reportedly been missing for approximately two weeks before the discovery.

Police officers visited the scene and confirmed the presence of suspected human body parts. A thorough search of the area led to the recovery of several personal items, including a black hoodie, a pair of gumboots, a grey trouser and a medullary rod attached to a tibia bone.

Family members who were called to the scene positively identified the clothing as belonging to the missing man, strengthening suspicions that the remains could be his.

Preliminary findings suggest the deceased may have been attacked and mutilated by wild animals, although investigators have not ruled out other possibilities pending forensic examination.
