Revered media personality Joyce Gituro has publicly apologise after facing massive criticism for defending a senior pastor who had been dismissed at the Nairobi Baptist Church.
As earlier reported by a number of local news sites, Nairobi Baptist Church dismissed the pastor for gross misconduct.
Following the reports, Gituro took to social media and added her voice on the issue as she somewhat defended the pastor.
However, the public turned on her and slammed her for standing with the pastor who had been accused of sodomy.
The radio personality reacted fast by apologising for commenting on the issue and defending the pastor.

In a Facebook post sighted by Nairobi News on Tuesday, August 5, Joyce Gituro said that she regretted reacting too quickly to the issue without getting the full context of the same.
She admitted she had not fully understood the circumstances surrounding the pastor’s dismissal.
“I shared a comment yesterday, unaware of the full and serious nature of the pastor’s suspension. I assumed it was an internal disciplinary matter and reacted to what seemed like public shaming,” Joyce Gituro said.
According to the journalist, she does not support any form of abuse especially to minors.
She added that she deleted her post immediately after learning of the full story.
Gituro held that she stands with the victims.
“Once I learned the truth, I deleted the post. Let me be clear: I stand firmly against all forms of abuse, especially as a mother and a Christian. I stand against any form of abuse and also with the victims. I totally regret my fast reaction to that story,” she wrote.
Gituro’s quandaries began on August 4, when she commented on a social media post about the dismissal of a Pastor who was removed from his position by church elders for what they described as serious misconduct.
“So, why put it on social media? You are damaging a brother more!!” Gituro wrote.
Her sentiments irked many netizens who unleashed a mother of all troll on her.
On August 3, the Nairobi Baptist Church issued a statement announcing the pastor’s dismissal.

“The pastor is no longer serving as the Senior Pastor of Nairobi Baptist Church, effective 1st June 2025. Following serious allegations of misconduct. After careful review of the actions against the biblical responsibility of ordained pastoral ministry.” The statement read in part.
“The Elders Council has concluded his actions against the biblical responsibility of ordained pastoral ministry. The Elders Council has concluded that his actions are incompatible with his calling to serve as a minister of God and fall short of the conduct expected of ordained pastors,” the notice read.
The church council of elders disclosed that they are working to resolve the matter and help the individuals who were directly affected.
