Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, has announced the deployment of a special Anti-Abductions Squad comprising well-trained German Shepherds and Saint Bernard dogs to assist in the fight against abductions in Kenya.
This move comes amid growing concerns over the rising number of citizen abductions by individuals posing as police officers, often without uniforms, and taking people forcefully from public spaces.
In a statement, Kalonzo strongly condemned the escalating abductions, calling it a grave violation of citizens’ rights.
“This is a clear violation of the law, and as a leader, I cannot sit back while innocent Kenyans are subjected to such horrors,” Kalonzo said.
“We are deploying these highly trained dogs to track down these criminals and support citizens in arresting the abductors who are terrorizing our communities.”

The Wiper leader went on to praise the heroic actions of a Matatu driver who recently helped save a Tanzanian citizen Maria Sarungi from being abducted by a group of abductors.
“I commend this brave driver for his actions in protecting the life of an innocent person,” Kalonzo noted.
“His courage is a perfect example of what all Kenyans should do when faced with such situations.”
Kalonzo further urged the public to take an active role in combating abductions.
“If someone claiming to be a police officer refuses to identify themselves, do not hesitate to stop them.
Citizens must act to protect one another from these heinous acts,” he said.
“I encourage Kenyans to be vigilant, take responsibility for their own safety, and, where necessary, carry out citizen arrests to prevent abductions.”
The Wiper leader emphasized the importance of collective action in ensuring safety and security in the country.
“This is not just a police issue; it’s a national issue. Together, we can end this nightmare of abductions that is slowly becoming a major threat to the peace and stability of our nation,” Kalonzo added.
The deployment of trained dogs as part of the Anti-Abductions Squad is expected to bolster efforts by law enforcement agencies in tackling the increasing cases of abductions, with a focus on ensuring the safety and security of all citizens across the country.
