Kasmuel McOure who recently joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has addressed growing speculation about his political ambitions within the party.
In a statement, he made it clear that he has no intention of challenging the party leader, Raila Odinga, emphasizing instead his commitment to the youth and the party’s legacy.
“A question I’ve been asked often of late, now that I’ve joined the @TheODMparty, is whether I could challenge His Excellency The Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga. Let me be crystal clear: I have no need, nor any intention, to do so. I joined this party not to rival its leadership, but to be part of something far larger. Something greater than any one individual. I joined as a member, not as a co-principal,” he stated.
McOure expressed his intent to contribute to ODM through its youth league, describing it as a platform for progress and mentorship.
“My purpose is simple, yet profound. I am here to stand in the ranks of the youth league of the largest, most consistent, and most organized political party in our nation and beyond. I am here to find kindred spirits, bound together by a common vision of progress. I am here to learn firsthand from the paragons of our history, from those who have shaped our country’s journey and whose lessons will help us chart the course for our future,” he added.
McOure praised Raila’s legacy, highlighting the mentorship and dedication provided by the ODM leader to young members of the party.
“It is my privilege to be mentored by the most influential, steadfast, and visionary leader this country has ever known. The Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga is a man who has dedicated his life to the struggle for justice, for freedom, for the future of this land,” he added.
McOure also underscored the youth league’s active role in shaping Kenya’s destiny, stating a commitment to ensuring the voices of young people are heard and respected, especially in the fight for good governance and accountability.
“As the youth league of the official opposition, we are no passive bystanders in the shaping of our nation’s destiny. We are committed to playing a central, structured role in defining the future of Kenya. We are here to ensure that our voices, our ideas, and our aspirations are not only heard but respected,” he said.
McOure concluded with a rallying call for youth participation in building a just and equitable Kenya.
“As we say in the Youth League, ‘Haiwi Bila Sisi!’ We are the revolution. We are the change we have long sought. We are the renaissance that this nation has been waiting for,” he said.
