Kenyans Light Up Interwebs With Cunning Comments After RC Celta Posted Photo Of Aldrine Kibet


Kenyans have over time proven that they can never be defeated on matters social media.

The much-taxed but easy going lot has always supported their own in whatever circumstance and this came to life recently on RC Celta team’s Facebook page.

In June 2025, the Spanish La Liga side team signed Kenya’s own young footballer Aldrine Kibet in a four year multi-million deal.

Kibet’s feat impressed countless Kenyans who have ever since been rooting for him, on and off the field.

Kenyans on social media on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, did what they do best when Kibet’s team, Celta Vigo posted a photo of the player while in training.

The team, through Facebook shared Aldrine’s photo, followed by;

“ALDRINE KIBET,”

The photo awakened many netizens who thronged the comments section with their usual funny comments.

In their usual demeanor, Kenyans invaded RC Celta’s page to check up on their son.

Some asked whether the team has been feeding Kibet well while others wanted to know when they will clear him for his first match.

Going through the comments one can not help but crack on end.

“Mbona hacheki? Have you guys fed him?” Kevin Teya questioned.

Kanyaa wrote;

“Tunakuamini, waonyeshe uwezo wako,Kibet!

Waonyeshe wao si wa kiwango chako!Kenya leads others follow.”

“We 🇰🇪 demand a full pic. Maybe you made him play barefoot,” Yu Geen posted.

“Kibet, let me say hi to him in Espanol, chamkee ptoiyot!” Chad Mulligan wrote.

Giddy De Kim wrote;

“Show us his back,we want to see the name you wrote in the jersey 😔😔😔don’t write his name using this unknown language of yours,”

Kibet put pen to paper and signed for Spanish La Liga side, Celta Vigo in La Liga.

The development was confirmed in June 2025, after the 18-year old who had been accompanied by his parents to Spain signed a multi-million contract.

Kibet rose to prominence playing as an attacking midfielder for St. Anthony’s Boys High School in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, where he captained the team to a national championship title at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) tournament in August 2023.

Kibet was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and top scorer, with 25 goals and 27 assists during the tournament.

Before joining Celta Vigo, Kibet was playing in Spain’s Nàstic Sports Academy, the youth development arm linked to Gimnàstic de Tarragona, which competes in the Spanish third tier.

He moved to Spain in September 2023, straight from St. Anthony’s Boys’ High School in Kitale, after shining in the 2023 KSSSA school games.

Kibet has also played in several CECAFA Youth tournaments and was also part of Kenya’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Celta Vigo, officially known as Real Club Celta de Vigo, is a Spanish professional football club based in the city of Vigo, Galicia.

Although the club has never won La Liga or the Copa del Rey, it has enjoyed notable moments, including a 4th-place league finish in the 2002–03 season and a semi-final appearance in the UEFA Europa League in 2016–17.
