A 40-year-old man died after he was attacked by an unknown assailant in Maoro village, Kilifi County.
The victim identified as Emmanuel Kaingu was attacked and sustained serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Kilifi County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was moved to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
No arrest has been made over the Tuesday incident and police said they are pursuing the attacker and motive.
Elsewhere in Gatunga, Tharaka Nithi County, the body of a man was found on the roadside after the murder.
Police visited the scene and confirmed it was the body of Gerald Gitonga, 45.
The cause of death was not known and the body had no physical injuries, police said.
The body was moved to the Marimanti Level Four mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Meanwhile, police are looking for a gang that attacked and robbed the driver of a lorry that was carrying assorted goods valued at millions of shillings in the Sultan Hamud area on Mombasa Highway.
The lorry driver told police he was stopped by five armed men who had posed as police officers in Kiboko area as he raced from Mombasa to Nairobi.
The men were on board a white car.
They then took control of the lorry and drove towards Nairobi before abandoning him near Kenya Pipeline Company in the city and driving off in the Monday night drama.
The gang drove off with the lorry before it was traced to Kajiado’s Kipini area.
No recovery or arrest has been made so far, police said.
