Police in Lari, Kiambu County, have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 20-year-old man whose body was found in a bush in Mathore Location.
The body of Nahason Kigotho Kamori was discovered on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at around 1:13 p.m.
Police reported that the body had visible injuries to the head and neck. The report also indicated that blood was oozing from the anus, while the deceased’s underwear and trousers were found at the scene.
His mother told authorities that her son had left home on Wednesday, September 9, at around 4 p.m., saying he was going to Kiambu to collect his national identity card.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and police are investigating the incident.
The body was processed at the scene and moved to Uphome Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old gold miner was killed after a mine collapsed and trapped two workers in Ogande Village, Homa Bay County.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at around noon at a mining site in Kanyach Kachar North Sub-location, Homa Bay Sub-County.
Police said the miners were working at the site when the mine suddenly collapsed, trapping Joel Onyango Arwa, 22, and another miner whose age was not immediately established.
The other man was rescued and rushed to Samaritan Hospital, where he was admitted with injuries to his chest and arm.
Arwa, however, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collapse.
Arwa’s body was removed from the scene and taken to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the mine collapse.
