Police are investigating an incident where a body of a man was found in a hotel room in Kamkunji area, Nairobi.
The victim was identified as Gideon Munuve Syengo. He had checked to Terrace Hotel on Saturday night.
His body was discovered on Sunday by a cleaner on routine checks on the rooms.
The cleaner told police she found the lifeless body lying on the floor.
Police who visited the scene said they recovered his personal properties and assorted drugs.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
Elsewhere, the body of a man was found on the roadside in South B, Nairobi.
The man had no visible injuries at the time the body was found on Saturday evening.
The body had no identification documents at the time it was discovered.
The body was moved to the City mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification.
In Embu’s Kianjokoma area, one Charles Mucira Nyaga, 40 was killed after he attacked his brother with a panga in an argument.
Witnesses said the deceased had threatened to kill one of his brothers and made his threats true by showing up armed with a panga.
He attacked his brother and cut him on his right hand.
In retaliation, the injured brother and another one attacked the deceased and caused him serious injuries and he died on the spot.
The body was moved to Embu Level Four hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police said they are investigating murder in the incident.
In Gachoka, Mbeere, Embu County, one Newton Murimi Ndegi, 25 drowned in the river Thiba in Kathigiri village.
The body of the man who was said to be mentally challenged was found floating in the water long after he had died.
