A man estimated to be about 40 years old was found dead along a pathway near the gates of Kiambu Level Five Hospital on Saturday night.
The body was discovered by members of the public at around 9 p.m. on September 12, 2026, who subsequently alerted the police by phone.
Police officers responded to the scene and found the body of an unidentified male adult lying on the pathway near the hospital gates.
The man was found without shoes and had no visible physical injuries.
The scene was processed by police officers before the body was moved to the Kiambu Level Five Hospital mortuary, where it was preserved pending identification and a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Police said investigations into the incident were ongoing.
And a 37-year-old man was found dead in his compound in Sagana, Kirinyaga West, with a head injury suspected to have been inflicted using a blunt object.
The deceased, identified as Ephraim Kanyingi Kiema, was discovered by his mother at their home on Saturday night, September 12, 2026.
Police said the woman returned home at around 10:30 p.m. after leaving her son and his nephew at the residence earlier in the day. Upon opening the gate, she found her son lying in a pool of blood, with blood oozing from his head.
She alerted a village elder, who subsequently informed the police.
Police responded to the scene and found the deceased lying face down on the ground. He was fully dressed in a red T-shirt, jeans and sandals.
Preliminary investigations identified a male adult, reportedly known to the deceased’s mother as Ian Kamuiru, and described as the deceased’s nephew, as a person suspected to be linked to the killing.
Police said the suspect allegedly fled to Kamunyu village in Gatundu South, where he was last seen at around 8 p.m. on Saturday.
The motive for the killing had not been established by the time of reporting.
A wooden stick, suspected to be the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene and preserved as an exhibit.
Scenes of Crime officers processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to Kibugi Funeral Home for preservation and autopsy.
The case remains under investigation.
Elsewhere, a 68-year-old man died after he was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen by his son in Kemeloi, Nandi South Sub-County.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at around 5:50 p.m.
Police said a neighbour heard screams for help and rushed to the scene, where he found Barnabas Kipkerich Nandi lying on the ground with a deep cut to his abdomen.
The victim was allegedly stabbed with a kitchen knife by his 35-year-old son, identified as Anastashos Kimeli, who reportedly fled immediately after the incident.
Barnabas was rushed to Kobujoi Mission Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.
Police officers visited the scene following the report and recovered a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the incident.
The suspect remained at large as of the time of reporting.
The deceased’s body was moved to Kaimosi Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending autopsy.
Police investigations into the circumstances and motive of the alleged killing are ongoing.
