Man Found Dead On The Street In Westlands, Nairobi


Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the street in Westlands, Nairobi.

The body of Gabriel Omondi, 40 was found lying on Back Street Lane near Unga house in Westlands on Wednesday afternoon long after he had died.

The cause of the death is yet to be known.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Elsewhere along Outering Road in Donholm, Nairobi, a body of a man was found long after he had died.

The cause of the man aged about 30 was not immediately established, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary.

In llesi shopping centre, Khayega, Kakamega County, police are investigating murder in an incident where a mob stormed a house and killed a burglary suspect.

Police said Derrick Adalo, 22, who had earlier been suspected of committing a burglary offence was pulled out of his house and fatally assaulted.

Police officers responded to the scene and rescued him to Kakamega County Referral Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.

Police discourage mob lynching incidents and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for grilling and processing.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.

And a man aged 59 succumbed to his injuries in hospital after he had been assaulted in a bar in Juja Farm, Kiambu County.

Police are now looking for the said assailants in the incident that happened on August 4 in a bar leaving Jonathan Mutua with the fatal injuries.

In Shauri Moyo area, Nairobi, a fight between a group of street families left one of them dead. Police said the group differed over money owed to each other prompting the fight.

The deceased, identified as Allan Maleko Makosi, was stabbed in the thigh and died in hospital. Police said the assailant escaped the scene and efforts to arrest him are ongoing.
