Man leaves netizens in stitches after sending ex-lover onion, lemon and pepper bouquet

At a time when flower and money bouquets have become the go-to way for couples to flaunt love online, one Kenyan man has taken the trend to a hilarious new level.

Instead of roses or crisp notes, the mystery man decided to gift his ex-lover a bouquet made entirely of onions, lemons, and chilli peppers, and social media cannot stop talking about it.

According to popular Nairobi florist Mariah Kandles, the man reached out asking for a special arrangement that would deliver a message his ex would “never forget.”

And being the creative spirit she is, Kandles went all out.

Rather than assembling the usual romantic blooms, she crafted a witty, and slightly savage, edible bouquet using whole onions, fresh lemons, and a touch of chilli pepper “to spice things up.”

Sharing the masterpiece on Instagram, Kandles explained that the client told her he missed his ex and wanted to pull a lighthearted joke he hoped would make her laugh, and maybe even win her back, since she apparently loves humour.

“He said he misses her, so I made him a bouquet she’ll never forget. Too petty?” she captioned the behind-the-scenes video of the unusual creation.

The clip spread like wildfire across social media, with many netizens praising the man’s bold, comedic approach to heartbreak.

Some called it clever revenge, while others joked it perfectly represented the “bitterness, sourness, and tears” of a messy breakup.

Still, not everyone was impressed.

A section of social media users claimed the stunt was a sign he’s still hurt and might need to heal before trying to rekindle anything.

Whether petty or genius, one thing’s for sure, the onion bouquet has secured its place as one of the most hilarious breakup gestures to hit Kenyan social media in a long time.
