Mombasa Businessman Woos Geoffrey Mosiria With Marketing Job, Promises Him Private Office After Sakaja Sacking

Geoffrey Mosiria may have lost his position at Nairobi City Hall, but a Mombasa businessman has stepped forward with a fresh career opportunity, offering the former county chief officer a marketing and advertising role complete with a dedicated office.

The businessman, popularly known online as Haytham the Car Don, extended the offer in a video shared on social media, encouraging Mosiria to move beyond his dismissal and explore opportunities in the private sector.

In the video, filmed at the Cannon Motors dealership in Mombasa, Haytham directly addressed Mosiria, telling him that his public profile and ability to attract attention online could prove valuable in business.

Rather than dwelling on the circumstances surrounding his exit from government, the car dealer urged the former official to consider working with him on marketing campaigns and advertisements.

“Come to Cannon Motors. We work together. Come to Cannon Motors. We do marketing together. Come to Cannon Motors. We do advertisement together,” Haytham said.

He went on to make the offer more appealing by promising to establish a private office for Mosiria at the dealership as they explored a possible working arrangement.

“I will even set up an office for you here,” the businessman added.

Haytham also praised Mosiria’s influence on social media, arguing that his ability to inspire people and attract engagement could be useful in promoting the company’s products and services.

“You inspire a lot of people. You have a good engagement. What is the issue now?” he posed.

The businessman urged Mosiria not to allow his departure from public service to discourage him, suggesting that his experience, visibility and connections could open doors to other opportunities.

His offer has introduced a new twist to the unfolding story of Mosiria’s departure from Nairobi County Government, with the former official now being publicly courted for a potential role in the business world.

Mosiria’s dismissal from Nairobi County Government

Mosiria’s exit from City Hall was confirmed on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, following an administrative reshuffle announced by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

According to reports by The Standard and Daily Nation, Mosiria was removed from his position as Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service.

Zipporah Njeri Mwangi was assigned the responsibilities in an acting capacity while retaining her existing role in the county’s City Culture, Arts and Tourism department.

The changes took effect immediately, according to a circular signed by Nairobi County Secretary Machel Waikenda.

The notice cited provisions of the County Governments Act, 2012, but did not state a specific reason for Mosiria’s removal.

The development came days after Mosiria publicly expressed interest in challenging Sakaja for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.

In the days leading up to his removal, Mosiria had also spoken publicly about disagreements within the county administration, claiming that his responsibilities had been reduced long before the formal dismissal.

In a statement following the announcement, he thanked Sakaja for making his removal official but alleged that his working relationship with the governor had deteriorated years earlier.

Mosiria’s claims about the circumstances surrounding his departure remain allegations and have not been independently established.

Businessman sees an opportunity in Mosiria’s popularity

Haytham’s offer appears to be built around Mosiria’s public profile and his ability to command attention on social media.

As a former senior county official who frequently attracted public attention through his activities and interactions with Nairobi residents, Mosiria has developed a recognisable presence beyond the corridors of City Hall.

For a business seeking to reach a wider audience, such visibility can potentially be valuable in promotional campaigns, brand endorsements and digital marketing.

Haytham did not present the offer merely as an ordinary job opportunity.

His proposal included the possibility of working together on advertisements and marketing, suggesting a potential partnership that could draw on Mosiria’s online following.

However, neither a formal employment agreement nor Mosiria’s acceptance of the offer had been established in the information available about the video.

It therefore remains unclear whether the proposal will develop into a formal business arrangement or whether the two will eventually agree on specific terms.

What next for Geoffrey Mosiria?

Mosiria’s departure from government comes at a significant moment, with the 2027 General Election approaching and his previously stated interest in the Nairobi governorship adding a political dimension to his next move.

His experience in county administration, public engagement and communication could offer several possible directions, including private-sector work, public relations, marketing or continued political activity.

For now, Haytham’s public invitation provides one possible avenue outside government, although Mosiria has yet to be confirmed as having accepted the opportunity.

The businessman, meanwhile, has made his position clear: he believes Mosiria should use his influence and experience to pursue new opportunities rather than allow the loss of his county position to define his future.

Whether Mosiria will take up the offer and establish a new base at Cannon Motors remains to be seen.
