Morara Kebaso Calls Out Gvt for Sending Him Goons After Exposing Stalled Projects, Shares Implicating Video

Political activist and aspiring Borabu parliamentary candidate Morara Kebaso has alleged that his political rivals are resorting to intimidation tactics after he shared a video showing a group of young men confronting him over his ongoing audits of public projects in Borabu Constituency.

The activist posted the video on Facebook, claiming the individuals had been sent to threaten him as he continued exposing what he describes as stalled, overpriced, or poorly executed government-funded projects in the constituency.

In the footage, the men are heard warning Morara against continuing with his project inspection tours, suggesting that he would face consequences if he persisted in exposing questionable projects.

According to reports, the confrontation occurred on Tuesday, June 23, as Morara continued his now-famous public accountability campaigns.

Accompanying the video, Morara wrote a lengthy caption accusing unnamed rivals of using unemployed youth as political weapons.

“VIDEO REPOST FROM WHATSAPP GROUPS. The goons were sent. They asked me which project I will audit and I told them so that we meet there if they can move fast enough 😄 the habit of making people poor then using them as goons will come to an end in Borabu. My dream is that by 2028 all goons will be gainfully employed and earning a decent living. Therefore all goons get ready put your papers in order ninajua mmesoma,” Morara wrote.

The statement quickly attracted reactions online, with supporters praising him for confronting the alleged intimidation while critics questioned the growing tensions surrounding local politics in Borabu.

Confrontation Over Project Audits

According to the video, Morara appeared unfazed by the warnings and even invited the group to accompany him on his next inspection visits.

Reports indicate that he informed them he would continue auditing projects, beginning with institutions and facilities he believes warrant public scrutiny.

The activist has recently intensified his oversight tours in Borabu, accusing leaders of failing residents through questionable expenditure of public funds.

His visits have drawn significant attention both locally and nationally due to the detailed breakdowns he provides regarding project costs.

One of the projects he recently highlighted was an eight-door toilet at Kenyoro SDA Primary School, which he claimed cost Sh1.8 million.

Morara questioned the value for money, arguing that taxpayers deserved greater accountability in the use of constituency funds.

He also raised concerns about a water tank and tree-planting initiative at a government office that allegedly cost hundreds of thousands of shillings.

Rising Political Profile

Morara rose to national prominence through his “Vampire Diaries” initiative, a campaign that involved visiting and documenting stalled government projects across the country.

Through social media, he built a large following among young Kenyans who viewed his activism as a push for transparency and accountability in public spending.

In recent months, he has increasingly signaled his intention to transition from activism to elective politics, particularly in Borabu Constituency, where he has repeatedly criticized the current leadership while positioning himself as an alternative voice.

Debate Over Political Intimidation

The incident comes at a time when concerns about the use of hired goons in Kenyan politics have resurfaced, with leaders across the political divide condemning the practice.

Recent national discussions have focused on allegations of organized groups being deployed to intimidate opponents, disrupt events, and influence political activities.

Following the release of the video, some observers urged authorities to investigate the claims and ensure political competition remains peaceful and issue-based.

Others echoed Morara’s sentiment that economic empowerment of young people could reduce their vulnerability to being used in political confrontations.

Despite the alleged threats, Morara has maintained that he will continue auditing public projects and engaging residents as he pursues his political ambitions in Borabu, insisting that accountability and transparency remain at the heart of his campaign.
