Mwenda Thuranira distances self from Isiolo Governor Guyo after emergence of fake posters


Real Estate mogul and politician Mwenda Thuranira has disassociated himself from Isiolo County Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo barely a day after a fake poster bearing their images emerged.

The entrepreneur, who has recently been enjoying massive influence in Isiolo politics dismissed the posters, holding that people behind them did so to cause confusion and weaken the resolve of people who are on the forefront fighting for change in Isiolo County.

In his own words, Mwenda Thuranira termed the posters as “malicious fabrications” to paint him in bad light.

Dismissing the poster with a clarion call for Kenyans to turn out for voters registration, Mwenda insisted that his political allegiance is tied to the people of Isiolo and not coalition and individuals such as Governor Guyo.

He reiterated that Isiolo people are the foundation of his vision for leadership and will always strive to bring them together through various initiative.

“My loyalty is not to any tribe, clan, individual, or coalition of individuals. My loyalty is to the dream we share of building a county rooted in fairness, justice, and true service to the people,” Thuranira wrote.

The My Space Properties CEO assured Isiolo residents that he will neveralign himself with what he termed “rotten systems” that perpetuate corruption, incompetence, and disregard for the will of the people.

Mwenda promised his supporters that he remains committed to ending the cycle of poor governance.

“These fake posters are simply signs of fear—fear of a people who are waking up, organizing, and demanding real change. They cannot stop our momentum. They cannot silence our unity,” he added.

Wrapping up his official public statement issued on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the real estate mogul accused past and current leadership of betraying Isiolo residents by pursuing self-enrichment at the expense of service delivery.

The circulation of fake posters, he argued, reflects growing fear among opponents of his reform-driven agenda.

His message to Isiolo residents was one of reassurance and resilience, urging them to remain steadfast in the fight for accountability and transparency in county leadership.
