This event was part of the ongoing global Coca cola initiative that personalizes Coke bottles with people’s names to create emotional connection and also promote the brand.

This year East African edition of the #share a coke campaign focused on reconnecting with the Gen Z audience through branded giveaways, entertainment which consisted of F1 gaming console experience, an afterparty performances by Dj Elirosh, 33beats Djs, Manu the MC, Trio Mio, MC Gogo and Claudia Naisabwa.

The event was a blast and it is safe to assume it was a success as it had high engagement from students as a result of the perfomances, the customization of the coca cola bottles with individuals names made the event relevant and sparked excitement among the audience and the fact that this campaign was kicked off at Makerere University in Uganda and later connected to JKUAT promoted cross border cultural unity.

Just like any other events, the con to this campaign was partial inclusivity. Students with uncommon names felt excluded as they could not get a hold of bottles with their names on it. Despite this con, the event was a standout moment for many students, mixing fun with familiar branding.
